This spring is an exciting time for Jewish communities around the world, as we commemorate the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence (Yom Haatzmaut) and 51 years since the reunification of Jerusalem (Yom Yerushalayim) just days apart. This year’s festivities are especially historic with the inauguration of the US Embassy in Jerusalem on May 14th. In celebration of these special events, we present to you a remarkable collaboration between all-star Jewish vocalists, Y-Studs A Cappella and the honorable Israeli Cantor Lt. Col. Shai Abramson.
This video is an inspiring take on Yehoram Gaon’s Hineni Kan, a timeless Israeli classic. Hineni Kan, or “I am here,” speaks of the Jewish people’s longing and unwavering dedication to return to their homeland through the millennia. The video weaves together shots of Abramson basking in Jerusalem’s ancient beauty with Y-Studs performing for prospective olim in the United States, thereby linking those who live the Israel dream and those who aspire to it. Hineni Kan, “I am here,” is the declaration that represents the Jewish past, present, and future — our ancestral dream, the marvel of our times, and the bright road ahead.
