This past Sunday afternoon at the Shulamith Auditorium the YU Maccabeats & David Ross’s Shir Soul put on the performance of a lifetime. These two acapella groups had the crowd constantly on their feet with their talented vocals. Below is a video of Shir Soul performing “The Shadchan Song” a parody of Grenade and below are the lyrics.

Lyrics:

Here she comes, there she goes
She’s running through my head,
Oh, “Just one date” — that’s what the shadchan said.

I gotta know, from the start
Is she slim and tall?
‘Cuz you know I got my checklist and I gotta have it all.

Gave you all my info, I told you I was shtark
I told you I was shtark, that’s right
It shouldn’t be too hard to find a girl that uses
A Shabbos tablecloth that’s white!

I would go on a date for ya
And I won’t ever be late for ya
You say “I’ll find a mate for ya”
You tell me “this girl is great for ya” (oh)

I would go through all this pain
‘Cuz my mother’s driving me insane
Yes I would date for you Shadchan
So go give out my name

Black, black, black and white, that is all I wear
Can you find a sheina meidel who will cover all her hair?
Small women, all women, I’ll meet them anytime
Where and when doesn’t matter, hotel lobby will be fine.

Gave you all my info, I told you I was shtark
I told you I was shtark, I know
It shouldn’t be too hard to find that perfect girl
That covers both her collar bones!

If I meet her on a Monday
You know I’d take her out to Le Mareis
The L’Chaim is next Sunday
‘Cuz I’m ready, ready to leave the Upper West Side and move to Teaneck
