Its always emotional when a singer performs a song about or for mothers, but Duvie Shapiro is probably the first singer ever to sing about his mother-in-law A”H in commemoration of her first Yahrtzeit.
Basha Elka Bas Moshe Ha’Kohen moved to Israel from Kansas City without any Jewish background, became a Baalas Teshuva, and had 9 children together with her husband who she encouraged to be a full-time Avreich.
